The Benson ADU Pasadena Guarantee
Here’s what we stand behind, in plain terms: every ADU, home addition, or room addition we build in Pasadena comes with a written price before any work starts, a written guarantee on the completed project, and a 365-Day Done Right Promise that says if the work isn’t right within a full year, we make it right. No verbal handshakes. No “we’ll see what we can do.” It’s all on paper, stamped on your project file, and backed by Troy Eastman, Owner. If a covered repair fails, our team returns for a free second visit to fix it.
We don’t expect you to take that on faith. We expect you to hold the paperwork in your hand, read it, and call us at (626) 658-3527 if anything on it ever stops being true.
What’s Covered
- Workmanship on every phase of the build. From foundation to final paint, if our construction work doesn’t hold up within the first full year, we return and make it right at no charge.
- Parts and materials we install. When we put in a window, a panel, or a finished surface, we stand behind how we installed it, and we handle any covered repair that traces back to our workmanship.
- Cleanup and job site condition. We don’t leave scrap piles, nails, or packaging for you to deal with. The site gets cleared and swept, and if we missed something, one call fixes it.
- On-time arrival, communicated in advance. Our background-checked, uniformed technicians show up when they say they will, and you get live arrival updates, not a shrug and a maybe.
- Honest pricing, fixed in writing. The number on your written estimate is the number on your invoice. No change orders appear after the fact because we “found something.” If scope changes, you approve it in writing first.
- A live person on the phone. Around the clock, every day of the year, a real human answers when you call. No voicemail loops, no phone tag, no waiting until Monday morning for an update on your project.
One thing worth saying directly: the written guarantee covers the work we do. Manufacturer warranties on products like James Hardie cladding or the prefab ADU systems we build with are separate, itemized documents you’ll receive, and we’ll walk you through exactly what each one covers so you’re never guessing which paper protects what.
Our Satisfaction Promise
If something about your completed project isn’t right, here’s exactly what happens. You call us at (626) 658-3527. A live person answers. You describe the issue. We open a service record under your project file and schedule a return visit, at no cost to you, to look at it. If it falls under our workmanship, we fix it. That’s the entire process, and it’s written into the guarantee before we ever break ground.
What we don’t do is make you chase us. The 365-Day Done Right Promise exists precisely because Troy knows how frustrating it is when a contractor’s truck pulls away and the phone stops being answered. That won’t be your experience with Benson ADU Pasadena. The promise runs a full year from project completion, and if a covered repair fails during that window, you get a free second visit to make it right. No deductibles, no “it’s probably fine,” no calendar games.
We also don’t consider a project done until you’ve walked the space with us and we’ve walked it together. If there’s a corner cut, a seam that isn’t clean, a door that catches, you point it out and it goes on the punch list. We work the list until it’s clear. That’s what “done right” means to us.
Licensed & Insured Backing

Paperwork promises are only worth as much as the people behind them, which is why Benson ADU Pasadena operates licensed and insured on every project. Licensing means we answer to the state’s building standards on your ADU or addition, and insurance means you’re not left holding the bag if something goes sideways on a job site. We’re proud to carry both, and you’re welcome to ask about them before you sign anything. It’s a reasonable question, and we’ll have a reasonable answer.
Beyond the credentials, there’s the operational backing that comes with being part of the Relay Home Co. family, founded in 2006. That structure gives every project a second layer of accountability, the kind most independent builders can’t offer. And because Benson ADU Pasadena is independently owned and operated, you get the directness of a local builder combined with systems that have been refined for nearly two decades.
Every technician who walks onto your Pasadena property is background-checked and arrives in uniform. You’ll always know exactly who is on your property and who to ask for by name if you have a question. That’s not a guarantee in the legal sense, but it’s a promise in practice, and we keep it.
Common Questions About Our Guarantee
Does the 365-Day Done Right Promise cost extra?
No. It’s included on every project, in writing, at no additional charge. It’s not an upsell, it’s our standard.
What does “covered repair” actually mean?
It means an issue that traces back to our workmanship, our installation, or our construction process. If we built it and it failed because of how we built it, it’s covered. If a tree falls on your ADU, that’s your insurance, as it should be.
Will someone actually answer the phone when I call about an issue?
Yes. A live person answers around the clock, every day of the year. Call (626) 658-3527 and you’ll speak to a human, not a menu tree.
Do you use prefab systems, and how does that affect the guarantee?
We build with leading prefab ADU brands including Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, Plant Prefab, and Tuff Shed, plus James Hardie cladding. Our workmanship guarantee covers how we install and integrate those systems. Their manufacturer warranties cover the products themselves, and we hand you those documents and explain them in plain English.
What if I’m not happy with something cosmetic months after the build?
If it’s a workmanship issue, it’s covered under the same 365-Day Done Right Promise. Call (626) 658-3527, and we’ll schedule a visit to look at it.
