Meet the Pasadena Team Behind Benson ADU Pasadena
When you call Benson ADU Pasadena, you don’t get a rotating cast of subcontractors you’ll never see again. You get the same four faces from first site walk to final inspection. Our crew has built ADUs and room additions across Pasadena, from compact garage conversions off Orange Grove to two-story backyard units near the Rose Bowl. What unites us is simple: we put the price in writing before anyone swings a hammer, and we stand behind the work for a full year. Troy Eastman, our owner, set that bar on day one and nobody here gets a pass on it.
Our People

Marcus R. – Lead Technician, ADU Specialist
Marcus has been framing and finishing accessory dwelling units for 14 years, and he’s the person who walks your property first to check setbacks, access, and utility tie-ins. He’s certified on Abodu and Cover prefab panel systems, which means when a panel arrives from the factory, Marcus knows exactly how it should seat, seal, and align before the crane ever lifts it. His specialty is tight-lot ADUs where the foundation has to share space with an existing garage, a mature oak, and a sewer line all at once. Outside work, Marcus restores mid-century furniture, which is probably why his interior finish work looks the way it does.
Elena S. – Senior Installer, Home Additions
Elena came up through site-built home additions before moving into prefab, so she understands both worlds: stick framing one week, Plant Prefab or Dvele modules the next. She leads the install crew on larger additions and is the one who catches the details most people miss, like how a roofline tie-in needs to shed water before any fascia goes on. Elena is also our James Hardie cladding specialist, trained on proper gap, flashing, and fastener schedules so the siding warranty actually holds. She grew up in a house her father built himself and still has his old framing square hanging in her truck.
Dana W. – Service Coordinator
Dana is the voice on the phone when you call (626) 658-3527, and she’s been doing it long enough to know that a live answer beats a voicemail loop. She schedules every site visit, confirms arrival windows, and keeps your digital invoice and permit file moving so there’s no waiting until Monday morning to ask a question. Dana reads every permit submittal before it leaves the office, so if the city kicks something back, she usually knows why before they say it. She keeps a running list of every Pasadena homeowner’s dog’s name so the crew never walks onto a property unprepared, in more ways than one.
James T. – Apprentice Installer
James is the youngest member of the crew and has been apprenticing under Marcus and Elena for three years. He started on Tuff Shed and Boxabl installs learning how factory-built components arrive, unload, and lock together, and he now handles rough-in, weatherproofing, and finish punch lists on ADU builds across the city. James is the one who takes the before-and-after photos for your project file, so you’ll see his work in your final walkthrough packet. He’s also a certified forklift operator, which comes in handy when a prefab module needs to move from the delivery truck to a tight backyard with about four inches of clearance.
One Standard, Every Job
The four of us carry the same promise on every project, whether it’s a garage conversion, a detached backyard unit, or a full room addition onto the back of a 1920s bungalow. That promise comes from the Relay Home Co. standards our owner adopted when he opened this location: a written price before any work starts, a 365-Day Done Right Promise that says if something isn’t right within a full year we make it right, and a written guarantee on every project. No verbal estimates that shift later. No scope creep billed after the fact. Every technician arrives background-checked and in uniform, and every invoice is digital, itemized, and payable by link. We build with brands you can research yourself, Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, Plant Prefab, Tuff Shed, and James Hardie, because you should never have to take our word for it. You should be able to look up the product, read the spec sheet, and hold us to it.
If you’re thinking about an ADU in Pasadena, call Dana at (626) 658-3527. She’ll get you on the schedule for a free site walk, and you’ll get your written price before any work starts. That’s just how Troy runs it here.
